Our staff and substitutes bond with your child and family just as if they were their own, over time fostering a sense of security and belonging for each child. The children quickly become comfortable with our staff through encouragement and affirmation, opening lines of communication that helps enhance your child’s care and education. Some of our staffing have children of their own enrolled in our programs and are members of Benton First UMC.
All staff are required to take training hours every year to help in the learning process of the children we care for on a daily basis. Thorough background checks are also required of all staff and substitutes. Benton First and all of its programming strictly abide by the Safe Sanctuary Policy of the United Methodist Church. All this to help ensure the safety of every child we care for. For more information please call the church office at 527-3990.
Cathy has a master’s of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. With more than 30 years, Cathy is a valuable member of our team and has been the director of the center since May 2018.
We will occasionally enlist volunteers to enhance our program. Volunteers will not have supervising responsibilities or be left alone with students. Our volunteers will not replace the KIT/Preschool director or teachers at any time. Just as employees, regularly scheduled volunteers must have a current background check on file prior to volunteering.
Families are invited and encouraged to share their experiences and talents with the students as volunteers. If you would like to share with us, please make arrangements with the program director.
